Overview
Kufi calligraphy is one of the oldest and most geometric Arabic scripts. This practical course teaches you to build Kufi letters in both Arabic and Latin alphabets and apply them in art, architecture, branding, and modern design. With step-by-step guidance, just pencil, ruler, and marker, you’ll master structure, balance, connection rules, and tasteful ornamentation and finish with a personal Kufi artwork.

- Letter Foundations: Latin + Arabic/Ottoman alphabets; proportions, spacing, joins
- Compositions: Square Kufi; multi-panel and mirrored layouts; hierarchy & focal points
- Phrases & Ayat: Bismillah, Shahada, Al-Ikhlas; devotional phrases and poetry lines

Weekly Schedule
Focus: Lowercase/uppercase alphabet set (Latin Kufi).
- Focus: Square ratios & proportions study (review + practice).
- Focus: Lowercase/uppercase alphabet set (refinement).
- Focus: Arabic & Ottoman alphabets practice.
Focus: Phrase triptych on a square template.
- Focus: Clinic/practice; catch-up and refinement.
Focus: Produce at least one finished levha; continue in-class drills → levha.
- Focus: One finished levha minimum; polish ongoing works.
- Focus: Design and complet a clean levha (as shown in demo).
Focus: Hierarchy and visual emphasis; present as a levha.
Focus: Full-surah levha with clear rhythm, spacing, and ornaments.
Final Submission: You will be tasked with a final artwork that may be displayed in our art exhibitions (with your permission).
